Oatmeal For Oily Skin

Oatmeal For Oily SkinOily skin is one of the annoying cosmetic problems faced by many women. The symptoms of oily skin include greasy layer on the T-zone and cheeks, dull skin texture and enlarged skin pores. Oily skin is extremely difficult to manage because it attracts more dirt and impurities compared to other skin types. The impurities block the skin pores which in turn causes acne and pimples.

Oily skin is a temporary problem in many people and goes away after puberty. But it is a permanent issue if it is caused by heredity, poor diet, stress or hormonal imbalance. There are a number of natural ingredients such as oatmeal that can resolve the problem of excessive oiliness without causing any side effects.

Is Oatmeal Useful for Oily Skin?

  • Oatmeal is highly absorbent so it helps to draw out excess sebum from the skin pores and reduce oiliness of the skin.
  • Raw oatmeal has an abrasive texture that acts as a mild exfoliant which helps to unclog the skin pores and remove oil, toxins, dirt and dead skin cells from the skin surface.
  • Saponins present in oatmeal acts as a natural cleansing agent that helps to remove the accumulated oil from the skin surface.
