Some of you may have heard of the antioxidant properties of coffee. There is however another reason why coffee is a natural health powerhouse. It turns out, coffee is beneficial for skin and hair. This is due to the high caffeine content, as well as the antioxidant properties.

Coffee can be used in several ways to draw out that healthy glow in your skin, and here are 5 of them.

Coffee scrub for vibrant skin

Caffeine is the stimulant contained in coffee. This is what makes the beverage so popular. The stimulant is also found in premium cellulite creams. Caffeine is used because it has the unique ability to deflate fat cells and lower the appearance of dimples.

In addition to this, coffee makes for an excellent body scrub. You can make a coffee-based body scrub at home, and it is quite simple to do.

Mix one tablespoon of coffee grounds with two tablespoons of coconut oil and one tablespoon of sugar.

Massage the mixture into your skin in a circular motion. Be sure to focus on the areas of your body that you are not happy with. Rinse with water and pat yourself dry when you are done massaging your newly vibrant skin.

Puffy eyes eliminator

If puffy eyes in the morning are an issue for you, save your morning coffee grounds and let them cool. Gently rub the grounds under your eyes and around your eyelids. Have a lie down for 20 minutes and relax while the grounds get to work.

When your 20 minutes is up, rinse off the grounds with cool water. You will be amazed at how great your eyes will look. You will have brilliantly vibrant skin around your eyes.

Coffee skin brightener

As well as brightening your mood in the morning, coffee can also brighten your skin. The caffeine in coffee stimulates blood flow and circulation, below the skin. This has the effect of making your skin look more vibrant.

For this, mix one tablespoon of coffee grounds with two tablespoons of plain, organic yogurt. Rub this mixture into your freshly washed face. Coffee foot rub

Our feet are unsung heroes of our workday. They bear our weight all day long and receive little thanks for it if any. You can treat your feet using a simple natural home foot scrub. This foot scrub moisturizes, removes dead skin, and generally gives your tired feet some TLC.
Mix the following:

  • One cup of organic, unrefined coconut oil
  • Half a cup of a good-quality, organic, ground coffee
  • One teaspoon of vanilla extract

First, soak your feet for 10 minutes in warm water. Next, rub the above mixture into your feet in a circular motion. Once thoroughly rubbed in, rinse your feet in the warm water and pat dry. We don’t normally associate vibrant skin with feet, but maybe we should.

Coffee grounds scalp exfoliation and vibrant skin

People’s scalps are overlooked, and so they can become clogged with dead skin cells. Dead skin cells can cause issues with bacterial invasion and dandruff. There is an easy way to avoid this, although it may not seem very appealing.

Apply ⅓ of a cup of coffee grounds to your scalp and massage in circular motions. By far the best place to do this is in the shower – this way you won’t make a mess and can easily rinse out the grounds.
