1) Aloe Vera

  • Wash face with mild soap and water.
  • Scoop out aloe vera gel from an aloe leaf.
  • Using a cotton ball, apply the gel around the closed eyes.
  • Let it rest for few minutes or until it completely dries.
  • Rinse off with warm water and pat dry.
  • Repeat the application daily.
  • Alternatively, you can dip cotton swabs into aloe vera gel and place them on eyes.
  • Alternatively, you can dip few cotton pads in aloe vera gel, freeze them and store them in a zip lock bag for daily use.

2) Aloe Vera with Rose Hip Oil

Rosehip oil contains fatty acids which help the skin to regenerate. Both lemon and lavender oil contain strong antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. This process provides an amazing eye solution that lessens baggy eyes.

  • Take a spray bottle (preferably glass).
  • Add 1/2 ounce each of rosehip seed oil and freshly extracted aloe vera gel, 10 drops of lavender oil and 5 drops of lemon essential oil.
  • Daily before going to bed, remove the makeup and clean the face with mild soap and water.
  • Pat dry, close your eyes and spray the mixture around the eyes.
  • Let it dry completely or leave it overnight.
  • Rinse off with water.
  • Repeat daily.

3) Brightening Gel with Aloe Vera

Licorice extract, vitamin K and aloe vera are the ingredients used to make this amazing gel. Licorice extract acts as skin whitening agent while aloe vera reduces the swelling and vitamin K strengthens the capillary walls.

  • Combine 3 drops of vitamin E oil, 2 drops of licorice extract and a drop of aloe vera gel.
  • Mix well until you attain a creamy consistency.
  • Apply it around clean and closed eyes.
  • Leave it overnight and wash in the next morning.
  • Repeat daily before going to bed.

4) Magical Eye Gel with Aloe vera

In this method aloe vera hydrates the skin, vitamin E moisturizes the irritated skin, green tea extract reduces the puffiness and licorice extract lightens the skin.

  • Into a clean container, add 1 1/2 teaspoon of aloe vera gel, 1/4 teaspoon of vitamin E cream, 10 drops each of green tea extract and licorice extract.
  • Mix it will for few minutes until you achieve a creamy consistency.
  • Now refrigerate the mixture. It stays up to 3 months.
  • Daily scoop out enough amounts of cream and apply it over the clean eyes.
  • Let the skin absorb the eye gel completely.
  • Applying the gel daily before going to bed yields better results.

5) Aloe Vera with Cucumber

There are two different processes of using aloe vera and cucumber. The astringent properties of cucumber reduce the water retention under the eyes. It also constricts blood vessels which reduce the fluid flow into the soft tissues under the eyes.

Process 1:

  • Peel, chop and blend 1/2 cucumber.
  • Strain the blended mixture through a sieve to extract cucumber juice.
  • Mix 4oz aloe vera gel and 2 tablespoons of cucumber juice.
  • Combine the ingredients well and pour into a bottle.
  • Let the bottle refrigerator for an hour.
  • Scoop out a little mixture and apply it over the eyes.
  • Leave it overnight and rinse off the application next morning.
  • Repeat daily before going to bed.

Process 2: with Coconut Oil

  • Into a blender, add 1 large cucumber (chopped into pieces), 1/4 aloe vera gel, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and 8 drops of carrot seed essential oil.
  • Blend until you achieve a smooth paste.
  • Pour the mixture into an ice tray and let them freeze.
  • Scoop out 2 ice cubes and massage for 15 minutes.
  • Rinse off with water and pat dry.
  • Repeat daily.

6) Aloe Vera with Vitamin E Oil

The anti-inflammatory properties of vitamin E oil provide relief from puffiness under the eyes. The following process makes an amazing eye serum which can be prepared and stored in a refrigerator for daily use.

  • Mix 2 tablespoons of freshly extracted aloe vera gel and 1 teaspoon of vitamin E oil.
  • Whisk the ingredients well for few minutes.
  • Pour the solution into a container and store in a refrigerator.
  • Daily, take a small amount of the serum and apply it over clean eyes.
  • Let the skin absorb the serum completely.
  • Repeat the application 2 times a day.

7) Aloe Vera with Almond Oil

Almond oil contains many essential vitamins including vitamin E which acts as a powerful antioxidant. It fights with the free radicals and helps to maintain the skin soft and supple. It is very effective for a dry and itchy skin. If you don’t like almond oil or if you are allergic to it, then you can use coconut oil instead of it. This solution can also be used as makeup remover.

  • Mix equal amounts of freshly extracted aloe vera gel and almond oil in a bottle.
  • Shake well until both the ingredients are incorporated well.
  • Apply a small amount of solution over the closed eyes.
  • Let the skin absorb the solution.
  • Repeat the application 2 times a day.
  • For extra benefits, you can a drop each of lemon essential oil and lavender essential oil.

Tips and Precautions:

  • While applying aloe vera or any other gel, make sure it doesn’t enter into your eyes. Unfortunately, if it happens, wash your eyes immediately with water.
  • If fresh aloe vera gel is not available then you can use store-brought ones or aloe vera extracts.
  • Reduce salt consumption in your daily food. Over consumption of salt can cause water retention.
  • Drink plenty of water to flush out toxins from the body.
  • Apply sun-screen lotion around the eyes to protect from sun’s harmful rays.
  • A healthy diet is not just for hair, it also helps to maintain the skin under the eyes.
  • Don’t rub or scratch your eye vigorously.
  • Remove makeup before going to bed. If makeup is not removed, then it can suffocate the skin while you are sleeping.
  • Get plenty of sleep. Sleep for 8 hours a day.
  • Performing yoga postures meant for eyes improves blood circulation and restricts fluid retention.
  • Avoid using eye gels or creams that contain harsh chemicals.
  • Don’t sleep on your stomach as the gravity can cause fluid retention. Sleep on your back to avoid it.
  • Wash your bed linen frequently as dust on it can cause irritation to the skin.

  2. I got to much sun expisure and my eyes are puffy underneath will using banana boat after sun lotion with aloe vera and vitamin e help brings the puffiness down. It looks almost like fluid build up is under the skin under my eyes.
