Process 1:

  1. Grate cucumber and extract juice from it.
  2. Dab the juice on the skin and let it rest for 15 minutes.

Process 2: Cucumber Slices

  • Cut thin slices of a cucumber.

Process 3: Cucumber Ice Cubes

  • Extract juice from a cucumber.
  • Pour the juice into ice cube tray and refrigerate them.
  • Once they harden, scoop out one ice cube.
  • Massage it gently on dark or pigmented skin.
  • Once ice completely melts, leave the juice on the skin until it completely dries.
  • Rinse off with water.
  • Repeat 3 times a week.
  • Store the remaining ice cubes for future use.

2. Cucumber with Multani Mitti (Fuller’s Earth)

Multani Mitti absorbs the excess oil and sebum from the skin and gives it a smooth appearance.

  • Grate or blend cucumber to extract its juice.
  • Combine multani mitti and cucumber juice to make a thick paste.
  • Apply it over the skin and leave it on until it gets dry.
  • Rinse off with water and pat dry.

3. Cucumber as a Skin Toner

The astringent property of cucumber makes it the best natural toner.

  • Extract juice of 1 cucumber.
  • Pour it into a spray bottle.
  • Clean your skin with water and pat dry.
  • Spray the cucumber juice over the skin.
  • Let it dry completely.
  • You can leave it like that or rinse off with water.

4. Cucumber with Potato Juice

Potato contains mild bleaching properties which lighten the skin tone.

Process 1:

  • Extract juice of 1/2 cucumber and 1 small potato.
  • Combine the cucumber and potato juices.
  • Using a cotton ball apply the mixture over the skin.
  • Massage for few minutes and let it dry completely.

  1. Blend a 1/4th cup of chopped cucumber and 1/8thcup of chopped raw potatoes.
  2. Take this mixture in a bowl and add 1 egg white, 1/4th cup plain yogurt and 1 teaspoon baking soda.
  3. Stir well and apply this mixture over the skin.
  4. Leave it for 10 – 15 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water.
  5. Follow this process 3 times a week.

5. Cucumber Juice with Milk Powder

  • Combine enough amounts of milk powder and cucumber juice to make a thick paste.
  • Spread a thin layer of the mixture on the skin.
  • Let it dry completely.
  • Rinse off with water by gently massaging with fingers in circular motions.
  • Repeat 3 times a week for effective results.
  • For extra benefits, add whisk 1 egg white into the mixture.

6. Cucumber with Mint Leaves

Mint leaves contain antibacterial and antifungal properties which deal with bacteria causing discoloration.

  • Blend few pieces of cucumber and few mint leaves together.

Process 1: With Yogurt

  • Combine cucumber paste/juice, freshly extracted aloe vera gel and yogurt.

  • After 25 – 30 minutes, rinse it off with water

  • Blend chopped cucumber, oatmeal and aloe vera together.

Process 4: With Green Tea and Avocado

  • Mix enough amounts of cucumber paste and honey.

9. Cucumber with Gram Flour

Gram flour absorbs the excess oil from the skin and tightens the skin pores.

Process 1:

  • Mix 2 tablespoons each of cucumber juice and gram flour.
  • Spread an even layer of the skin and leave it on for 25 minutes.
  • Rinse off the mixture with cold water by gently scrubbing with wet fingers.
  • Repeat the process 3 times a week.
  • For effective results, add few drops of lemon juice.

Process 2: with Lemon Juice and Orange Juice

  • Blend 2 cucumber slices, 4 tablespoons gram flour, juice of 2 lemons and juice of 1 orange.
  • Apply 1 tablespoon of the blended mixture over the skin.
  • Let it rest overnight or until it dries completely.
  • Rinse off with lukewarm water followed by cold water.
  • Repeat regularly.
  • Store the remaining mixture in the refrigerator for future use.

10. Cucumber with Lemon Juice

Lemon contains bleaching properties, which lighten the skin.

Process 1:

  • Mix equal amounts of cucumber juice and lemon juice.
  • Apply the mixture using a cotton ball.
  • Leave it to dry completely.
  • Rinse off with warm water followed by cold water.
  • Repeat daily for effective results.

Process 2: with Rice flour

  • Mix 1 teaspoon each of rice flour, lemon juice and cucumber juice to make a fine paste.

  • Rinse with lukewarm water and pat dry.
  • Apply moisturizer of your choice.
  • Repeat this process once in a week.

11. Cucumber with Oatmeal

Oatmeal removes excess sebum, oil and accumulated dead skin cells on the skin.

Process 1:

  • Cook 1/2 cup of oatmeal with enough amounts of water and let it cool down.
  • Combine oatmeal and enough amounts of cucumber juice.
  • Apply a thick paste of the mixture on skin.
  • Leave it on for 20 minutes.
  • Rinse it off with water by gently scrubbing the mixture with fingers.
  • Repeat the process 2 times a week.
  • Alternatively, you can use ground oatmeal instead of cooked oatmeal.

Process 2: with Kiwi and Strawberry

  1. Blend 1/2 cucumber, 5 strawberries and 1 kiwi.

  1. Blend 1/2 ripe papaya, 1/4 cucumber and 1/2 banana to a smooth paste.

14. Tomato with Cucumber

  1. Chop 1/2 tomato and 1/4 cucumber into pieces.
  2. Blend them to a fine paste.

  • Leave it on for 20 – 30 minutes and rinse off with cold water.

18. Cucumber Soap

  • Extract juice from a cucumber.
  • Using a double boiler, melt then few cubes of soap base.
  • Once it melts completely, remove from the flame.
  • Add cucumber juice and stir well.
  • Pour them into moulds and let it set aside to cool down.
  • Once they harden, remove from the moulds.
  • Use this soap daily instead of soaps that contain harsh chemicals.

Tips and Precautions for Skin Whitening

  • Drink cucumber juice daily for more effective results.
  • Try to use fresh cucumber juice instead of bottled or stored ones.
  • If you are allergic to astringent properties, then please avoid cucumber.
  • If you have cuts, bruises, blisters or cracks, then avoid cucumber application.
  • Include fresh cucumbers in your daily diet.
  • Before going out in the sun, apply sunscreen lotion.
  • Cover your maximum skin while strolling in dusty or polluted areas.
  • Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and flush out toxins.

    1. Though home remedies are effective in treating pimples and dark spots, they cannot do it instantly. You have to follow the method at least 2 – 3 months to notice the improvement. Avoid combining natural ingredients and chemical products as their reaction can be inappropriate for skin health.
