How to Use Yogurt for Dry Skin?

1. Yogurt

  • Take 3 to 4 tablespoons of fresh yogurt in a bowl.
  • Whisk it thoroughly with a fork.
  • Apply it all over your face and wait for 20 minutes.

  • Repeat it once in 2 days.

2. Yogurt and Honey Mask

The humectant property of honey helps to keep the skin well-moisturized by drawing moisture from the air into the skin. The enzymes and nutrients in honey heal dry and damaged skin.

  • Take 1/2 cup of yogurt and whisk it with a fork.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of raw honey to it and mix with a spoon.

3. Yogurt and Oatmeal Mask

  • Take 1/2 cup each of cooked oatmeal and yogurt in a bowl.

4. Yogurt and Besan Mask

5. Yogurt and Lemon Pack

High level of vitamin C present in lemon juice acts as a powerful antioxidant that protects the skin against free-radical damage. Vitamin C also increases collagen and elastin production in the skin, reduces the appearance of wrinkles.

  • Take 3 to 4 tablespoons of fresh yogurt in a bowl and whisk it with a fork.

Note – Don’t go out in the sun after using this remedy because it contains lemon that can cause sunburns.

6. Yogurt and Banana Mask

  • Take a ripe banana and peel it.
  • Mash the banana with the help of a fork.

10. Strawberry and Yogurt Pack

  • Take 3 to 4 ripe strawberries and mash them to make a paste.
  • Add 3 to 4 tablespoons of yogurt to it and mix with a spoon.
  • Apply this mixture all over your face.
  • Leave it on for 20 minutes.
  • Take a bath and dry with a towel.
  • Repeat it 2 to 3 times every week.

Tips and Precautions:

  • Always opt for plain, unsweetened and unflavoured yogurt for home remedies.
  • You can take a facial steam before applying the remedies as it helps to open up the skin pores.
  • Yogurt and other ingredients used in these treatments might leave behind an oily and sticky residue on the skin. So, it is recommended to use lukewarm water to wash off these packs.
  • If you experience tightness in your skin after applying these packs then moisturize your skin with a few drops of olive oil or coconut oil immediately after washing away these packs.
  • Use an oil-based moisturizer or cream to moisturize your skin 2 times in a day.
  • Reduce the use of soaps and cleansers that contain harsh chemicals. Limit your shower time to 5 – 10 minutes.
  • Don’t take baths or showers using hot water, use lukewarm water instead.
